Masking Technique
Layering stamps can sometimes lead to a cluttered look, but there’s a simple solution: the masking technique. This method ensures your stamped images look seamless and professionally layered.
Here’s how to do it:
- Start with the Foreground: Stamp the image you want at the forefront of your card first.
- Create Your Mask: Stamp the same image onto a piece of Stampin’ Up!’s masking paper.
- Trim Precisely: Cut closely around the outline of the image to create a precise mask.
- Apply the Mask: Peel off the backing and carefully place the mask over your stamped image on the card.
- Layer Your Stamps: Stamp your next image, allowing it to overlap the masked area.
- Reveal the Magic: Remove the masking paper to reveal a perfectly layered stamp with clean lines and no unwanted overlaps.
Using this technique, you can achieve beautifully layered designs without unsightly lines, elevating your card-making projects to a whole new level!
