When designing your own card, start by choosing your favorite Designer Series Paper and then choose the coordinating cardstock to compliment your project. Stampin’ Up! makes card making so easy because the cardstocks, Designer Series Papers and inks coordinate perfectly together. Below are a few samples!
Designer Series Paper is double-sided and designed to coordinate with all the papers in that set.
After you’ve chosen your papers, you will then work on the focal point of the card. Stamp the sentiment and then cut out the white and colored circles.
Tip: Cut the colored circle out of the colored cardstock that you will use in the interior of the card. The cut out will be covered up with white cardstock and no one will know! No waste!
Next you will cut your Designer Series Paper. Watch the video for details and use this cutting layout to help!
Tip: Don’t throw away your scraps of Designer Series Paper. Use them to embellish envelopes or the inside of cards!
Lastly, add a sweet bow. I really struggle with making pretty bows, but for me the Linen Thread is very easy to work with because it is thinner than ribbon and isn’t slippery.
Measurements:
Card Base: 8 1/2″ x 5 “1/2”
Designer Series Paper: 5 ½” x 2” and (2) 5 ½” x ¼”
Basic White cardstock circle: 1 7/8”
Colored cardstock circle: 2 1/8”
Colored cardstock for interior (cut larger circle from this piece): 5 1/8” x 3 7/8”
Basic White cardstock for interior: 5” x 3 ¾”
Designer Series Paper scraps for decorating the interior.
