Card Making with Google Translate’s Help

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you took perfectly good card making instructions, translated them into several languages using Google Translate, and then translated them back to English? No? Well, I have—and I couldn’t resist trying it with my most popular card project of 2024. The result? Spoiler: the finished card was unrecognizable—but oh-so-funny!  Watch video below.

I followed the directions!

My son had the idea to let Google Translate have have a go at my most popular card this year. The translated instructions were, uh, less than coherent. Highlights included phrases like “Place the tape first on the shelf. ” and “You can cook it in the kitchen.”

Naturally, I had to see what would happen if I followed these new instructions exactly.
